Generally, there are three methods of blood collection:
1. Venipuncture
Collection of blood from the veins through the use of a needle and a syringe.
2. Capillary puncture
Used when smaller volumes of blood is needed. Also known as fingerstick or finger puncture
3. Arterial Puncture
Collection of blood from the arteries
THERE ARE THREE MAJOR PART OF THE VEINS THAT BLOOD CAN BE COLLECTED THEY ARE CAPILLARY, ARTERIAL AND VEINS.
