The Record is a periodic tool for the status of the subject it is used periodically (daily, weekly, or monthly, and maybe annually) it is kept for all time to get back to when an information is needed within an exact period of time. Meaning that the record is the description of the condition and status of the subject within a period of time or at an exact moment. Even if no new information appears the record is still made for saving the condition of the subject to be stable, or still without any modifications, adjustments occur. For example a record can be: the daily report for a quality check..the name of travellers on a certain plane..the log of phone calls on a mobile.

The Document on the other hand is a certification, or an evidence describing the general condition, or status of the subject without being attached to a certain period of time. The document can be used at any time as it describes more generally the condition of the subject. It has no expiry date (most of the time) Examples for documents: The manual of a device..The certification of quality of a device or an establishment.
