Process capability ratio is the tolerance width divided by 6 standard deviations (process variability).
Capability is the ratio between the process output and the standard output for the same process.
for example :
a product line produces 70 pieces of a specific product, but the standard says that the product line should produce 100 pieces of the product.
=> the capability ratio for this product line equals 70%.
Process capability compares the output of an in-control process to the specification limits by using capability indices. The comparison is made by forming the ratio of the spread between the process specifications (the specification "width") to the spread of the process values, as measured by 6 process standard deviation units
