Purpose of UPS is to give power to computer devises without power interruption to avoid data loss or software corrupt.

Regarding inverter the purpose is to convert AC to DC and DC to AC vice versa. We use battery for backup time. To charge battery we have to convert AC to DC for charging the battery and same time the DC voltage is converted to AC we require inverter.  Main heart of UPS is inverter.

uninterruptible power system and inverter both have same basic internal process in this basic process their input are AC voltage which convert into DC voltage on the behalf of input voltage and then invert DC voltage into AC voltage

An uninterrruptible power supply (ups) is device that allows a computer to keep running for at least a short time when the primary power sourse is lost.It also provides protection from power sourse.

A power inverter,or inverter,is anelectronic device or circuitly that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) .The input voltage, output voltage and frequency, and overall power handling depend on the design of the specific device or circuitry

UPS untriptible power supply and is of pure sign waves and no transfer time is needed

INVERTER:It doesn't have pure sign waves and 20 microseconds is its minimum transfer time
