Depending on the role that you work and based on the facilities of the organisation, you can work in either programs, to ease your work accordingly.
excel is more easy to use than access in fast projects building
It depends on the requirement. Excel is sufficient for simple and less data intensive scenarios, where as Access is a powerful tool in multi user environment to handle large data set. If you know Excel that’s good, if you know Access that’s much better.
