A solid can disperse quickly onto the surface of a support to form a monolayer or submonolayer.Solids usualy in solid state have stronger bonding between molecules  therefore dispersing of the molecules on the surface would provide sufficient energy to break the surface tension between the absorbates and the adsorbants. This energy is the heat of adsorption.
