Your Opinion, a job, maybe good financially related to your field or a research assistant, financially not fruitful but beneficial for your post-grad, which is better?

Many times in your career mostly mid career  you have to take serious decisions. Fewer times the situation occurs in early career. Where at one side your passion is but not giving you much monetarily while on the other side you are having your job that is field related also and most probably will turn out to be financially good.

It depends on the situation as in early career you may be more enthusiastic towards learning and getting experience in the relevant field that may be in the form skill set or further education. In mid career on the other hand you are more demanding regarding your professional excellence as well as monetary benefits. Likewise at mature level after 45 and 50 when your professional status is on peak and your living needs are very high and I think at that you wouls seek highest possible financial benefits.....

it depends where you are in your carrer ladder. if you are a fresh graduate and if you are bold enough, then take the risk and go for the job of research assistant. it will improve your skills. it will change the way you see science
