You are hosting a meeting for the team to discuss the best way to move forward with the project from a technical standpoint. There are number of different requirements that have been discussed, however one of the team members is behaving like a heckler - making fun of ideas he thinks are not viable or telling people flat-out that they're wrong. This is beginning to disturb some of the other
team members who have started to visibly disengage from the meeting. You ask this individual what the problem is and he responds, “Who died and put you in charge?” Once the meeting adjourns, you pay a visit to this team member’s manager and are prepared to write-up this individual for insubordination. However what is probably the real problem?

PM’s authority. This would have been addressed in the project charter
