In Statistics and Probability Theory, Standard Deviation (SD) measures the amount of Variation from Average or Mean. In PMP Average or Mean is represented by Weighted Average calculated using PERT formula.

A low value of SD indicates that data points are very close to the Mean. On the other hand a high value of SD indicates that data points are spread out over a large range.

is a measure that is used to quantify the amount of variation or dispersion of a set of data values A low standard deviation indicates that the data points tend to be close to the mean (also called the expected value) of the set, while a high standard deviation indicates that the data points are spread out over a wider range of values.
