A fan is running continuously. If we turn the regulator from minimum speed to maximum speed what will be the change? Will the current consumption increase? Will it increase the electricity unit? Is there any connection?

when we are changing the speed of the fan, we are actually increasing or decreasing the resistance to the circuit, by varying resistance the voltage appear on the winding of the fan also increase/decrease. the voltage drop occur in the regulator in other sense.
