Quality Metrics help you translate your clients' needs into measurable goals. It's critical that you define a set of quality metrics during your project’s planning phase, so that you and your team know exactly what you need to get done.
There can be different project management metrics defined based on complexity and nature of project. However, following five performance metric groups cover all the important aspects of a project to measure during execution:
#1: Schedule and Effort/Cost Variance
#2 – Productivity: Resource Utilization
#3: Change requests to Scope of work
#4: Quality and Customer Satisfaction
#5: Gross Margin
Any process needs metrics to measure, monitor, control and improve. Similarly Quality metrics are required to monitor, measure and control the performance of the process, so that the customer requirements are met
