Do you favor friendly approach with students or disciplinary approach or mixture of both?
Teacher-student relationship should be that of father and son/daughter, that is, based on love and friendliness, but at the same time with a respectful distance. Extreme friendliness is not good (familiarity breeds contempt). Teacher should maintain his status as a teacher so that s/he has the right to correct the students. A disciplined teacher motivates students by his/her behaviour, and if the teacher is knowledgeable and ready to help the students at every step, they will surely have better learning outcomes.
Teacher and student should have a relationship build on respect and understanding .The teacher must be fair dealing with her students do not favore one more than another. Fun and sence of humor should be accepted from both sides. A teacher should be there to contain her student when they have problems of all kinds.Teaching is an art and if the student love the teacher will listen to his teacher and learn better.
Another challenging yet nice question Mr. Shahul Hameed Mohammad.
What kind of effective teacher/student relationship should be developed and maintained for motivation and betterment of education?
Do you favor friendly approach with students or disciplinary approach or mixture of both?
My answer as per my experience is a combination of friendly and disciplinary approach. If it is my first time to encounter a class or group of students, I make my authority felt. Why? Because I should be able to establish myself as a teacher first, before being their friend. They should know that my primary role is as a teacher, and being friend is secondary, after all, it is easy to mellow down than to get their attention. It is important that I make things clear from the very start. It is important that students know that I will make use of my authority as a teacher and that at the same time I have a soft spot.
Students nowadays tend to push their teachers to the limit once they figure out that their teachers are kind and friendly. Then if the teacher tries to make her authority felt she will find it hard to do because her students know that their teacher is friendly or kind. If on the other hand the teacher established her authority from the very beginning, informing her students of her rules etc., then eventually showed her soft side, at least if her students become stubborn, she can immediately switch to the “authoritarian side” without her students being surprised about her shift in personality.
In sum, a teacher must be a good actor/actress. He/she must know how to swing along with her/his students. He/she must know when to pretend to be angry or happy to be able to gain students’ respect and attention.
Thank you for the invitation,I agree with Mr Pradeep Sharma, I want also notice that sometimes a teacher needs to favorise a disciplinary approach with some kind of students in certain cases or vice versa to maintain "equilibrium" of the class, since the teacher deals with different students´ personalities and attitudes.
I agree with experts answers, thanks for the invitation. .
I totally agree with Mr. Pradeep Sharma's viewpoint.
Thank you very much for the invitation and I agree with the answer, Mr. Pradeep
TEACHERS ARE TAKING CARE FOR THE STUDENTS AS A ANOTHER MOTHER .
Agree with experts' answers, Mr. Pradeep Sharma has given good answer. Teachers have to maintain such a relation with the students that students should know their good works will be encouraged and appreciated and any indiscipline will not be tolerated and punished.
I agree with Pradeep Sharma
This is called the natural approach
To enhance and improve learning, lower anxiety and increase motivation
Keep good relations but keep a certain distance for strictness
Be funny and cheerful
Thanks for the invite ............................ not increase the answers pals
