Is there a realistic balance? No, not really. There will be situations in which you will use traditional marketing more than digital marketing and vice versa. The key, though, is to make sure you use the right amount of each for whatever marketing campaign you are running. You also need to evaluate the audience; are they the type of audience that would flock more to digital marketing, or traditional? Also, how are YOU utilizing marketing? Are you including digital marketing into the realm of traditional marketing, or are you segregating the two? Do you know your target market? Does your marketing plan have the ability to reach the audience you wish for it to reach without including digital marketing aspects?
In the end, you have to determine what's best for the marketing campaign and what will better reach the audience.
