There are literally hundreds of combinations of elements that can be used in each direct mail piece. situation given calls for analysing more than 1 solution to find out the best possible solution, hence from the given option, Design of Experiments is the right answer.
in my opinion option B is correct, because it provides stastical framework for systematically changing all of the important factors.
