What brings you charm when speaking to a Speaker in a formal session or informal conversation. What aspects of a speech bores you. How could a speaker maintains his charm for the audience.
Monotonous voice, repetititive content, no interactivity, excessively long speech.
The public becomes bored when the speech gets too long or when it becomes too touchy. People usually have this perspective that a specific tone is required to deliver a speech while i totally condemn this phenomenon. Your speech must be free style or formal even but in your natural style not in a adopted one. Many times i have been advised to turn over a specific tone but i never did that really because i feel, the way you can hit the audience in your natural tone you cannot in that specific tone.
Secondly you need to evaluate your audience, the crowd is always diverse. Sometimes its comprised of completely intellect people. Sometimes its the real people common man crowd sometimes its students or sometimes its the most high profile maybe Director or Rector of your college University. So it depends. Your content must vary according to your crowd. Don't pressurize the crowd just keep a low hand on them. Leave them in thinking mode.
Lastly personally i would suggest that never never ever use the dice, the floor, the stage for drama. try not to pretend but keep this intention that you may bring something good out of your speech. You may not be the winner but you will win the crowd. Its a very sacred and responsible job when you address a gathering. People are literally following you so one should better be aware of how important and responsible that person should be while delivering a speech.
Thanks for the invite ............................ agreed with the answer Ms. Farhana
Due to;
1) Public speaker’s blowing his own trumpet without any reciprocity or interaction with the audience.
2) Repetitive content; entirely predictable and usually jejune opinions.
3) Ho-hum/extra lengthy/mind-numbing speeches.
I agree with Mr Syed answers, thanks for the invitation. .
Someone who isn't engaging with the audience and is using the same monotone in their voice. The subject may not be targeting or connecting with the right people and so they are switching off as they are not relating to the content. I feel the connection via the speakers emotions is the most important asepct of any talk
When the public speaker doesnt say anything that i can relate to as an individual, when its all plain without real life experience as examples .
The inability to capture the attention of the audience, even a little humour to lighten the speech and making sure those who were perhaps dozing off pay more attention.
