1. We spend a lot of our time on digital media which affects our health especially our eyes. 2. We loose our social skills because we deal with other people on line 3. We can manipulate the news more easily, and can spread rumors.

From a marketing point of view, the digital media makes it very difficult to control the company’s advertisements especially when it comes to social media.

People’s reaction to a post or a sponsored ad is the key for the success of this advertising effort and that is why most of the companies are putting extra effort to increase customer’s satisfaction by providing an improved customer service quality.

Nowadays company/brand’s reputation can be build or destroyed through digital media.

It’s the main challenge that occurred with the development of digital media.

major disadvantage is credibility of the carrier as its less costly to produce and is carried out even more, I find it being used to inject wrong information just to increase the biasness of one party over another

DISADVANTAGES- It's sterile. Too perfect, like electronic music with a mechanic perfect tempo.- No paper/canvas texture, noise.- No analog randomness, no happy accidents.- A Wacom tablet has no friction, no media resistance, hard to control, slippery.- No romantic physical result, it's all ones and zeros. No visible, bumpy brushstrokes.- Too many options! No constraints means no compromises, no thoughtful study, no careful planning as the media is exceedenly forgiving.- Unexpected crashes, data loss. (burning chrome)- Higher cost. (dpaint)- Requires power source. (dpaint)- No physical "first and only" unique original due to Digital Media's inherent nature. (dpaint, Two Listen)- Due to rapid changes in file formats and storage media, Digital Media files can become inaccessible over time. (QueenGwenevere)- Not yet portable enough to work on location. (JeffX99)- The quickness and easyness removes the learning of important theories and practices (color, composition, studies, patience, etc.). (JeffX99, ijacobs9)

  • Many claim that modern media technology allows for too much invasion of privacy.

I think the answer below frames it pretty well. Generally most of the things that makes digital media great, also potentially makes it awful:

-There are no borders, so you are not forced to edit and curate as much.

-You can track peoples actions and use the data for ad’s etc.
