I doubt if that will give someone any leverage in terms of performance,it works best for one's credentials not in any way to work performance.lt is true for all other fields(my point of view, take it that way). With sales l feel charisma, eloquence and that rare attribute of being persuasive are key success kingpins.
Basic sales knowledge is needed. Having a good product knowledge is essential. And having a sales experience is absolutely necessary. The degree will provide you an entry to the interview venue. The interviewer will ask you questions like how would you sell a freezer to an Eskimo etc. Passing that test you would be given some training about sales skills and the product to be sold. If it is a concept that has to be sold it would be more challenging as you have to create the product in the mind of the customer and then create a need. Then the real thing starts. You have to jump into the market as one has to jump in the water to learn swimming. You only learn by experience to be a good salesman.
My dear sir, the important of Degree always related for the knowledge for the concern person, but he and she have not willing to be career for themself in this field, just like fivr percent professional medical doctors are working in the other fields.
I beleive it is not nessasary, Sales is different than any other feilds, you can't learn sales from books or cources, the most important in sales in real life experience, that's what counts.
