The reason i left job was related to salary increment. after leaving that job i have been interviewed twice where i mention above reason. which i think made my candidature weak. suggest

On the accomplishment of Project.
Salary increment is subject to company's performance and individual's performance. If both the performing well then the increment prcoess follows automatically (though varied). But if either is not performance well, then the increment question remain a questiion. However, it is a policy & practice matter of the company. So mentioning the reason of absence of salary increment directly could harm your candidature. Instead handle it tactfully, something like saying looking for better opportunities etc.
Every employee has the right to scale up in his career. After serving a contract, an employee may look for better opportunities in comparatively better paying companies or larger companies. If the present salary is not at par, in other words, matching with the market average pay scale and the management trend of increment is nil or discouraing, you may answer that you are looking for better opportunities instead of absence of salary increment. Many organizations do nto consider it a professional thing to complain againt a previous management or the company.
