Profibus FMS (Fieldbus Messaging System) is the initial form of Profibus designed to communicate between programmable controllers and PCs and it has complex message.

Profibus DP (Decentralized Periphery) is newer version than FMS, and is for communication between the Controller level of a process automation system (PLC) and the decentralized periphery in the field and has speed up to12Mbit/s.

PROFIBUS PA (Process Automation) was developed for the process industry. Communication and power supply to Transmitter and Positioners are handled direct via one2-wire cable.

  • PROFIBUS PA & PROFIBUS DP can communicate together via DP/PA-coupler module.
