To what extent is the UAE prepared for this significant safety and security challenge?
Are the UAE governments, public safety providers and private organisation’s properly equipped for the future?
UAE is not prepared for the new challenges. Beside upgrading all the technical counter measures now it needs work on the mindset & attitude towards security issues focus on the human factor related to homeland security. An exposed geografical position plus beeing an international platform for any kind of illegal activities ranging from tax fraud to human trafficking and an easy hideout for individuals with terrorism background makes security an imperative challenge for all GCC countries within the next few years. Key would be training on sensiblizing the local population on security matters plus extensive training of LE and Military response forces continuing to manage the level of performance.
Although the UAE is experiencing massive tourism growth, I believe they are well equipped and are preparing accordingly. Have you been through the international airport there, even as a transfer passenger. I believe they have international and domestic threats well thought out and prepared for. One of the safest international destinantions on the planet.
