Thanks Mr Omar for invitation

A good leader must be a good trainer

Especially as the leader puts plans based on staff efficiency that means he is responsible for 100% of their training

having the Ability to Train is an added advantage for a leader  then you are sure of the authontication of what some other person may be teaching your group. A well rounded leader will have the ability to train. At the same time you can also get leaders who are not patient enough to teach and thus outsource a trainer. that means they know their weakpoint and can deligate that responsibility to another as long as the Leader has the concept of what they need from the trainer passed on to the trainees.

Note that Not all leaders are good trainer. that is why they outsource.

A real leader never is a trainer..... he always is discovering potential habilities, and talents of his team, to positioning each one of the member of the team in the right place to be more  effective and efficient.

The leader never see partners with weakness.. just  in the wrong position...or job...

The Trainer is just a teacher... the Leader is guide;an example to follow

Roberto

Actually being a good leader, the member who does does follow him and accept him as a role model and learn and adopt the practices from the leader. therefore he/she can be a good trainer, but not a must. I don't think there has to stop at borders of leadership for being a good leader, it may not cause any detrimental to his leadership being a trainer. My 2 cents. thanks.

A natural leader passes on his knowledge and experience to those working for him and with him.  One attribute of a nature leader is an effortless ability to explain complex concepts and processes to others in simple, easy to grasp terms.  But it is worth noting that this leader passes on his knowledge and experience 'on the job'.  He does not follow a formal training structure and his mentorship is focused on those that demonstate highest interest and affinity for the subject matter.

Contrast this with the trainer, who is expected follow a prescribed curriculum, bring the entire class to the required level of proficiency and spend as much time as necessary to assisting  those that are having difficulty with the subject matter.

Hence, my answers are as follows

Should the good leader be a good trainer?

A good leader could be a good trainer, but should focus his efforts in line with his roles and responsibilities.

he has to stop at the borders of leadership ?

There are no hard and fast "borders of leadership".

In order to effectively manage his many points of interface,  the leader will typicaly extend his attention and efforts will beyond such demarcation lines so as to ensure team success.

A good leader is usually a good trainer.   Training is definitely an aspect of leadership, but it is not always essential.

Good leaders show a good example, and others learn from that example.

The primary responsibility of a Good Leader is to identify the would be leader and start grooming and mentoring the one and it goes on and never stop. Grooming and mentoring is part of the OJT - On the Job Training. Therefore, the leader to this extend a trainer.

Dear All. When we talk about leader, we must understand it very well..that a good leader should posses all the qualities, Leader should be a good trainer because he/she is the one leading an organisation or a group....leader has inbuilt training qualities. .because of which he/she get this opportunity to lead the same. ..leader is build of all this basic and important qualities. . and if a leader doesn't have the same , I say he/she didn't deserve to be called a leader, All depends upon the strategies that a leader is using to create and sustain the value in the organisation. .

A good leader passes on knowledge and skills, as well as advice and thereby training his staff. Personally, I enjoyed helping and nurturing my staff, helping them to become more skilled and knowledgeable. It makes my life easier.

A leader leads by example effectively showing his staff the correct way of doing a task or handling a situation, thus by nature a good leader is  a good trainer the borders of leadership encompass training and as such being a good trainer is a prerequisite of being a good leader.
