Lean six sigma eliminates non-value added activities in the organization. Should it be considered a core requirement/ prerequisite for professionals?

Lean Six Sigma is an effective way to eliminate waste (unnecessary steps, waiting time, long queues, unnecessary movement of people/ material, excess of inventory). It addresses the needs of all organizations and helps them improve their operations, inventory, manufacturing etc. Hence, due to its tremendous benefits, should it become a must to know for potential employees.

I think lean six sigma eliminates non value added activies in the organization because if these non value added activities are eliminated it creates

  • Value
  • Indentifies the value system
  • Makes the flow efficiently by removing the unwanted steps
  • Gives enough time(Buffer) for the critical path
  • Final outcome will be perfect.(that Is it may be Final Product, Time to be completed etc.)

I think Lean management skill will definitely added advantage for the professional in a production environment, not only production, it will be helpful in refining the process by cut short or eliminating the unwanted things so that to proceed with the things in a efficient manner. I think it is considered to be a requirement.  Thanks.
