Both the television channel and website are content driven and intended to reach the customer visually. They both advertise and disseminate information with the objective of influencing the customer, one way or another. Both requires leadership and management focus to deliver their message and drive revenue.

However, there is where the similarities end. Television requires production on a daily basis. It therefore requires high intensity in creativity and efficiency to ensure that the product is delivered daily, and in most instances, minute by minute. Leadership in innovation and creativity is the focus to sustain competitive advantage.

Websites of the television channel also requires the same intensity, effort, innovation and creativity.

Television is instantaneous. The content is produced and delivered in realtime. It is then archived and the management and leadership starts the process all over the next day. In the case of the website, the content remains available to the user for a much longer period. The content and the website depends much more on the technology, and requires leadership and management to be on cutting edge technology. Latest software, and hardware platforms must drive mobile and desktop content, with journalistic writing skills that are high quality from many different writers and sources.

Given all these needs, while there are some similarities, the leadership and management of both entities require different leadership and management techniques as skill sets vary incessantly for online demand.
