How effective this forum is for job search especially in middle east? I have found it trivial in effectiveness, being in North America. Any ideas?

This forum is very good for knowledge sharing but is not effective for job search in in middleeast for jobseeker beacuse following reasons,

1) Companies always prefer the candicates having transferable Iqama. To get transferable Iqama, job seeker is always under mercy of current company.

2) Very rare comapny refer to such forum to find qualified candidate usually some references or less lowest salary package.

3) Arabic Speaking candidates are always preferable by the companies due to arabic language culture in middle east regardless of qualifcation of candidates. This also creates difference in salary and other benifits. Most of arabic candicates donot know how to write, read and speak English.

I'm new to this, yet think it's value is knowing what companies there actually in the middle east. I agree that Arabic speaking people would get preference. Yet just like music, in my field at least, there is a common language of operatons and engineering, print reading etc. I'm not too concerned though, English is taught all over the world. A lot of well educated Saudis etc. went to school in the U.S or Europe. Since these people are obviously going to be management, I don't forsee a problem. And as far as directing subordinate contractors, their lead may speak English. If not, I would outline what I wanted accomplished to a bilingual coworker to convey my objectives. This would work in a refining or process environment. In a job working directly with the public, not so much.

least of comapny refer to such forum to find qualified candidates usually some references or less lowest salary package.
