ABAQUS is more effective if you have a contact problem.
Both are great FEA software! It depends on which kind of problem you are working on to make a choice.
Ansys is liked by some because:
1) It's easier to use
2) It doesn't require users that necessarily understand either mechanics or finite elements
Abaqus has better nonlinear capabilities and, in my experience, certain algorithms are more robust accurate than the corresponding Ansys algorithms. But Abaqus is
1) Less user friendly than Ansys (particularly the popular Ansys Worksbench that design engineers like).
2) Needs a deeper understanding of mechanics and FE technology.
Ansys is more better for structural calculations
ANSYS : best for high level computing
ABAQUS : User friendly for beginners
ANSYS IS BETTER. FOR LAYERED COMPOSITE ANALYSIS ABAQUS IS BETTER...
Ansys is better compared to Abaqus because the user interface in Ansys helps the user to know more features/options in Finite Element Analysis. In Ansys you can make multiple simulations in one file, But in Abaqus you have to copy the file with part in another file and then again run the simulation. Where Abaqus can be used by beginners because its user friendly interface.
Abaqus is far better in high level fem analysis.
Both are excellent FEM modelling tools. I would suggest ABAQUS to beginners because of its user friendly interface.
ANSYS is better because it is easier, user friendly and has a bigger platform.
Both software are good for FEA . Ansys can be understand easily and easy to use . Abaqus is good for meshing a complicated design .
For structural linear problem Ansys is best but for Non linear and crack propogation Abaquas is most effective.
