Green Building is the practice of creating a built environment that is resource efficient in terms of energy, water, and materials whilst reducing building-related impacts on human health and the environment throughout the building’s lifecycle, through better siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance, change of use and deconstruction.
The benefits of plastic, with its lightweight and airtight properties, provide specifiers an alternative to some of the hard-to-find raw materials. With a greater understanding of the variety of plastic compounds and products, specifiers will have new options for sustainable design efforts.
Green building refers to both a structure and the using of processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life-cycle: from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition.
This requires close cooperation of the design team, the architects, the engineers, and the client at all project stages.
The Green Building practice expands and complements the classical building design concerns of economy, utility, durability, and comfort.
It is imprtent beacuse the practice of incresing efficiency with which buildings and their site use energy.water, and materials, and reducing building impact n human health and the envirnment ver entire lifecycle of the building
GREEN BUILDINGS ARE THE BUILDINGS WHICH COMPLETLY USES THE NATURAL RESOURCES. IT IS POLLUTION FREE STRUCTURE BUT IT IS COSTLY THAN THE NORMAL BUILDINGS.
The aim of Green Architecture is to implement proper construction practices and design in order to minimize the adverse impact it’s create to the environment and health of the inhabitants, than the conventional architecture we have been following.
The designer aims to achieve the following through green constructions:
a) Saves Energy by proper insulation techniques on exterior and interior walls, alignment of windows and opening for better illumination, good ventilation techniques, relying on solar & wind energy, bio gas for fuel etc.
b) Less water consumption by installing efficient sanitary fixtures ultra-low flush, taps, shower heads, re-use of water for irrigation purposes, rain water harvesting both for storage and recharging aquifer etc.
c) Reduce Waste that goes for landfills; includes both constructions and by the occupants
d) Material efficiency by using the materials which have less impact on the health and environment.
Green building are the structure which are made from recyclable material or waste material easily found around us like in my college project we used rice husk dust in place of fine aggregate. And also if a building whose power consumption is less comparitively with normal building.
design and construction provide an opportunity to use resources more efficiently, while creating healthier and more energy-efficient homes and commercial buildings
green building uses processes are frindly with the environment among all or some steps from designing to construction, operation, and maintenance. This requires close cooperation of the design team, the engineers, and the client at all project stages.
A green building is an environmentally sustainable building, designed, constructed and operated to minimize the total
environmental impacts
This is a very general question & I agree with the experts answers
