What is the allowable deflection of flat slabs ?

For slabs = Span/250 For beams = Span/360 For cantilevers = Span/450 According to Egyptian code

As per ACI

1-flat roofs immediate deflection  due to live load = L/180

2-Roof or floors attached to non structural elements (not) likely to be damaged by large deflections due to long term deflection (dead loads+ the sustained part of live loads+creep+shrinkage effection) = L/240

3- if the roof attached to glass or cladding or Gypsumboard No.2 will be = L/480

Deflection shall not exceed span/250

It depends on the code requirements. But defect can be controlled by limiting cracks to .3 mm width as per BS
