Is the compensation one of the tools to attract and retain the employees and avoid the staff turn over in the organization?

It's 50% that compensation matters and the rest 50% depends on the management, policies and the environment. It's difficult to say why employees leave the organisation as it totally depends on the invidual to individual. But if compensation is good for the job done then atleast 50-70% of the workforce can be retained for a longer period of time irrespective of the rest attributes..

Absolutely, compensation has very strong direct positive influence on employee welfare, commitment, loyalty, performance & general perception about the company. Employees feel that they are truly part of the company, that they have not been betrayed & their efforts are not meaninglesss, that the company recognises them & their efforts, that the company is professional & ethically run, it cultivates confidence in the company & gives a reason to employees to stay back & carryon
