How to set up a default drawing directory?

Specify a default location for the Select File dialog box.

  1. At the Command prompt, enter REMEMBERFOLDERS, and then enter 0.
  2. On the Windows desktop, right-click the product shortcut icon and choose Properties.
  3. On the Shortcut tab, in the Start In box, enter the desired default folder path for opening or saving drawing files.

On your Windows desktop, right-click the AutoCAD shortcut icon and choose Properties.

On the "Shortcut" tab, in the Start In box, enter the desired default folder path for opening or saving drawing files.

Apply and Ok.

Default drawing directory has sub directories having the information using the windows commands. The applications, which are going to be used, are highlighted, and by using drag and drop features those application will be placed in the default directory. The properties for the application are selected from the menu and dialog boxes displayed on the front.
