I think it makes great business sense to let specialists handle each elements of business. And the founding team concentrate on what best they do.

If the founders are great marketers, let them market. If they are techies, let them program and have a team for marketing. If you cannot afford a team, outsource.

It goes for each business process not only SEO

Outsourcing can be a little off control but if you have the budget it's always best to have your SEO done in house.

If you're outsourcing make sure you have the answers to the below questions.

1. Their past projects

2. Method of SEO (Not using blackhat)

3. Experience and knowledge

4. Up to date with the rapid changes & Google algorithm updates

If budget is matter outsoursing SEO is best option. Now a days social media have same importance as search engine. So content marketing also have equal importance Like SEO. So we need more resource to make online marketing properly. We need SEO , Digital Marketing experts, Good Designers and content writers to make a proper digital marketing plan. For a small business its not eassy to maintain more staff for this SEo / Onlien marketing

Yes indeed, but as long as you keep you credentials with you and have the ability to pull the plug at anytime

A good level of understanding and trust is definitely required
