We should not share any confidential information about customer to your colleague because it is against company policy and it will effect your career .

First, it would depend on the contract terms about your client's privacy. Second, it depends on how the confidential information was shared received from the client. Is there any indication that says the information is confidential? If both details above give you the legal right to share the sensitive information with your colleagues, the effects (pros/cons) of sharing this information should be made clear from your company's perspective.
This depends on the client would be affected if that's happened or not!
