Hi, I worked in catering and restaurant business for years. I go through this scenario few times round the year. I always do exactly what my customers want not how I want things to be done as they are the ones who are paying and I need a good customer base to survive in the industry.

I once made a special desert called Ras-Malai for a wedding event. the client was not sure if his guests would like it. I immediately changed the dessert menu, even though it hit me hard financially but I earned the trust of one customer

Hello Jessica,

Well, as we strat growing on the positions situations become part of our day -to-day life and I believe it best to consider them as your companion to resolve them more effeciently rather than be afraid of them and allow them to take over us.

The most difficult situation was adding life to an absolutely hopeless business unit, which was on the verge of closure despite being on one of the high footfall area, high street and being a popular International brand.

Changed the situation 4 months later upon joining the company, by bringing the Change whilst not compromising on brand, brand values, stadards, quality & customer mix. Assesed correctly where the problem was and why were not able to turn it around as expected, laid out proper plan and discussed with the owners and team to understand and execute the right game plan to make things happen. Since it was also Flagship Store it was very important to make buzz on that business unit and to keep up everyone's morale high.

With the required support from the owners and team members we managed to turn it around in such a way that we made the business unit "Talk of The Town" and resulted had to increase seating capacity after 2 months of Change in Place.

What did work for us in this was our focus, understanding of business, knowledge of our business, market requirements, consumer's expectations, determination to do better, exceptional teamwork, effective execution.

Hope this may of help to you

Good luck,
