the aromatic compounds contain alternative single and double bonds in a cyclic structer and resemble benzene in chemical behaviour.they undergo substitution reaction instead of addition reaction.this characteristic behaviour is called aromatic character or aromaticity.aromaticity is the property of the sp2 hybridized planner rings in which a p orbital (one on each carbon atom) allow cyclic delocalization of pi electrons

hucle rule state that

1-an aromatic compound is cyclic and planner

2-each atom in an aromatic ring has p orbital.these p orbitals must be parallel,so that a continuous overlap is possible.

3thee cyclic pi molecular orbital formed by overlap of p orbital must contain (4N+2) pi electrons.where n is an integer 1,2,3 thia is known as huckle rule.
