Depends on how different the model of operation is. For people who still carry cash and use cheques, it could help make transactions more quick and secure. Then again how widely it is implemented is another thing, even today despite so many e-payments options out there, you are still recommended to carry a small amount of money with you as many things can go wrong such as the system being down for maintenence or technical fault which would makei it an inconvenience if you needed to use the money immediately.
the unbanked community will be the one who most benefit from the digital wallet
For sure the company / the brand that presenting this facility for the cleints, this will help the brand to sell more speically that the whole world is going digitally.
I must say it is mutually benifitial for both consumers aswell as for employers. While consumers enjoy the easy of purcashe and convince, the employers will be benifted from increase of demand, consumer satisfaction and brand image.
In my opinion this depends on the target audience and market to which the wallet is available. There may be digital wallets that can be used to pay for a whole range of products and services (for example: Bitcoin), and there may be digital wallets that can be used for only a specific type of product. For example: in The Netherlands, a startup offered a news platform with a digital wallet to buy online news articles from all different types of newspapers, magazines, etcetera. For only a few euros or dollars, you will get all kinds of articles within hand reach. In this situation, the news consumer will benefit the most from the digital wallet, because it's an easy-to-use solution to get a lot of available content for only a small amount of money. (For more information: see www.blendle.com.)
In other cases, it can ben anyone who will benefit the most from the introduction of a digital wallet. However, in the end solutions like a digital wallet will be developed to arrange a better, quicker, faster or more logical way of paying for the end user (most of the time: the people in the streets, the consumers). To be successful with a digital wallet, they should be the group who has the biggest advantage by the introduction of a digital wallet.
At last, in my view there is a big risk of a digital wallet; the end user has to pay a certain amount of money in order to have the credit to buy products or services. This amount of money should be as low as possible, so digital wallets seem to be more interesting for companies that sell (online) products for smaller amounts of money. Personally, I don't see the advantage of adding 500 dollars to a digital wallet to be able to buy an expensive product in the (near) future.
A digital wallet refers to an electronics device that helps one make digital payment, but it is not limited to payments only. it can digitally store ur ID, drivers license, heath card, loyalty card etc.
Specific to digital payments, all parties involved will benefit - consumer, seller, and e-payment service provider.

I presume we're talking about mobile digital wallets.
Digital wallets are expected to become the most popular means for mobile payments (reported by Worldpay) on a global scale. However, currently it is the least popular means in the mobile payment world. Studies have shown that only 13% of adults in the US (reported by Gallup) use digital wallets to make online purchases. That is set to change, since internet access by mobile phones has already matched desktops and is expected to surpass that, due to its higher growth rate.
In my opinion, the younger consumer demographic will benefit the most from using mobile digital wallets. This is based on mobile trends, and the fact that biggest growth factor revolves around that very same demographic.
