There are mainly two types of signal

1) Analog (eg 4-20 MA)

2) Digital (eg 0-1 / 0 or 5 v)

There are two different types of sensor signals i.e Analog & digital. In analog pressure sensor, temparature sensor, sound sensor included. In digital Temparature sensor (DS 1620), Digitall accelerometers included.

Digital sensors like switches always have discrete output ( high or low ).

While Analog sensors have different types of output signals (0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, 0-5 V etc)
