Communication is important and can be positive if handled well. It can also be hurtful, depending on how it is done and the words that are used. Communication needs to be open and sensitive, as well as appropriate to the situation. The amount of information required by an individual can change with the circumstances.

Communication in organization is like blood in our body, the importance of communication is due to sensitivity of project and as project is link with meeting the deadlines and completion of every phase so that with proper communication from upward to down-ward and vice versa is very important. Any late updating or late communication will result in non-conformity of the result which hit the project completion and definitely at end financial losses possible. So either its project or routine task an effective communication is key to successfully complete the project.
Because it is the only way to ensure common understanding of the project's goals, consensus on the project plan, avoiding conflicts and immediate resolutions of arising ones, contiuous awareness of the project's state, & mitigating risks identified during execution in the most cost effective approach.
Good communication is essential in project management. This includes communication between the manager and client, the manager and team members and within the organisation.

Communication is vital for executing projects successfully. If project team do not know what their tasks are, or how to accomplish them, then the entire project will come to a halt.
As a Project Manager, if you do not know what the project team is doing then you won't be able to monitor project progress. And if you are uncertain of what the customer expects of you, then the project will not even get off the ground.

It helps identifying warning of risks and changes to enable early assessment and preparation.
Communication lets you know the real status of the project and also helps us to co cordinate between the important persons related to the project. it makes our job fast and easy.
Communication is75% of the project lifecycle and If mishandled it will simply add to the mental logjam of stuff which clutters things up. It is an unwanted distraction. There are four in which i deal with communications;
1/ ditch it, file it in the waste bin
2/ Delegate it. Push the communication back where best can be dealt with
3/ Do it
4/ Defer it. If further work is required
Having said that, some non-actionable items may contain useful information, note it, file it and move on.
Communication is vital to any action. Project execution is a complex activity involving millions of actions and numerous individuals and many systems. To align the actios of these different entities, all the involving elements needs to understand one another.To make this understanding possible, Communication is important.
I believe communication leads to understanding the expectations and goals of a project.
Communication creates an environment of transparency and builds a solid team.
Communication is the success of a team and therefore results in the success of any project.
An executive made a comment once he stated " Communication is like our spine, if our spine is injured we can still move but with limitations, and to be able to move again it will take time. Therefore communicate without limitations and you will have a successful project"

Effective communication is achieved as long as the focal point is respectable and efficient in communicating all vital information such as status of different resources, schedules etc, coordinating various changes, conflicts, deviations etc and organizing meetings and discussions to know the problems and how to solve them or to formulate resolutions to various issues among different stakeholders of the project.
a) Excellent command of English or the required language or medium of communication in a project.
b) Can reply appropriately to the question being asked or make comment fitting to the issue being discussed in a meeting or conversation.
c) In cases of urgency, alertness is needed to provide clear answer and communicate to announce important messages immediately to concerned people of the organization.and stakeholders.
d) Competence in contractual aspects, knowledgeable in technical matters and well-versed with the work flow, procedures and rules in the organization.
e) Professional in dealing with all levels of people.
