Normally, it happens in middle class society that parents force their children to become engineers. This is because engineering profession has good economic and social value, and the middle class parents who are of limited means want to protect their children's future economically and socially in the best possible way in their capacity and within their means. However, the real choice of career and professional should be left to the individual to decide so as to unleash their true potential and passion which can manifest in various ways of creativity which can add wealth, status and prosperity as well but pursuing own dreams comes at a higher risk of failures as well
May be they are influenced by society.
May be they want to impose their dreams on their children.
May be also not having knowledge of prospective opportunies in different field.
But it is not good on the part of the parents that forcing children to go for a particular studies. It would be always good to have the option chosen by children in which he/she is interested to pursue thereby he/she learns and acquires knowledge in good manner rather studying the subject which they are of no interest. My 2 cents. Thanks.
i am agree with experts......................
Engineering cant be learnt by force.
I hope this might be happening only in gulf countries as someone said earlier,
1.Might be, the parents dream to see there child as a engineer.
2.Might be there child are good at problem solving(Engineering has lots of Mathematics).
3.One thing that i would like say it's good point when comes to parents forcing but wrong statement nowadays (For there child good Future Ahead).
...............mistake ................
self satisfaction, to be called the father of the Engineer , in addition it pays good most of the times
