water treatment
PH is the measure of acidity or alkalinity of water.Less the more is the acidity of water
relationship between alkalinity and pH takes many forms. One of the most important of these is simply that alkalinity is defined as the amount of acid necessary to change the pH of the sample to a specific value.
Amount of Acidity or alkalinity is called pH (power of hydrogen)
Acidity and Alkalinity related to the concentration of H ion in the water so if the value >10êxp7 or pH>7 this alkaline while pH<7 acid solution
Relation between Alkalinity & Acidity is PH
vPH is a parameter for measuring Alkalinity & Acidity
vstart with / 1 →
vFrom 1 →7 is acidic & 8 → is alkaline
vAcidity decreases from/ 1→7
vneutral at 7
vAlkalinity increases from/ 8 →
Where /
· Acidity is the amount of H ion conc.,in the solution
· Alkalinity is the amount of OH ion conc.in the solution
acidity is the amount of H+ ion conc.,
alkalinity is the amount of OH - conc.,
PH is the degree of acidity or neutral or alkalinity for the given soln.,
Acidity is H+ ion con. and Alkanity is the OH_ ion concentraion ,In Ph we masure nature of water if ph is >7 then alkeline nature and PH is <7 then water is Acidic Nature and exacet 7 then it is nuturel
pH is the concentration of acid protons [H+]. On the other hand, the alkalinity of a solution is its ability to neutralize acids. Alkalinity consists of ions that incorporate acid protons into their molecules so that they are not available as a free acid that can lower the pH.
