Mr. Imran, I have two reply for this query (1) it this negative co-worker is in your team then you should first try to focus on your job/assignments and keep your communication and discussion with such colleagues in professional limits so that maximum avoid them. But, if things are beyond your limit then discuss the issue with your boss or manager and take him/her into confidence so that in case of any bad situation seniors are in confidence and well aware of such negative approach individual. Now the second reply (2) if such employee is in other department then it’s a bit reliving situation as compare to the first but in this case, try to communicate with them in written form like email and avoid them at your maximum and do share it with your boss and in both situation try to remain calm and in any case anyone of them annoyed you so try to get away from such situation. And HR/boss must handle such individual effective because one negative attitude multiply rapidly and impact team performance.
