think that really at this point they are the same. You market yourself on social media on how you deal with or relate to customers. If you are helpful and really connect with customers through social media they will see that and pay attention.Once you have their attention it's about educating them about your product or service and building that relationship until they buy in. Relations is more about the communication aspect, but marketing is about sales. You can't have one without the other nowadays.

I agree with the answer by Daniil Shilov!

Social media marketing is all about the product and talks about the experience it provides the customer with the usage of it, while the social media relations is all about interacting with the said customers and ensuring that their feedback is heard and acted upon. Communication is a two way bridge and social media marketing is about one-way talks while social media relations is maintaining effective communication.

Social media marketing is focusing on the product itself as well as its overall theme; gaming laptops and processing power for example. Social media relations focus on interactions and conversations with the people marketing said product.
