What is the difference between gold plating in project management and meeting or exceeding customer requirements in quality management ?

I think Mr Druker said : setting objectives, organizing, motivating and communicating, establishing measurements of performance and developing people.

Gold plating is an additions to the original scope of project , this scope was agreed and signed off by all stake holders.

Those Changes/additions may affect the ( Time-Cost-Quality ), while it was not requested by customer.

 

While Meeting/Exceeding Customer requirements is doing the project activities perfectly without affecting the (  Time-Cost-Quality ) and without changing the scope of the project.

In this case The final product will meet and may exceed the customer requirements.
