Open loop system- their is no feedback system, input is independent of output

Closed loop system- feedback system is present, input is dependent on output

Simply Open Loop is just sending the signal what you send and Closed loop is controlling the amount as per the feedback received from the controlled parameter.

Hello Yash,

When you are using a open loop control , the flow of information is exclusively from the controller to the controlled element.

When you are using closed loop, the flow of information is bi-directional: the controller feeds information to the controlled item, but, the controlled also feeds the controller with information of the actual state of the variable the controller is managing.

In an open loop control you will experience a bigger oscillation of the controlled variable (temperature, pressure, etc...). In a closed loop because the controller has a instant feed back to any adjustment he makes, the variable oscillation will be smaller around the selected target value.

Was this helpful to you? do you require more details?

Best Regards,

Paulo Batista
