Many thanks to give me the chance to reply, Actually nowadays the supply chain developed too much based on internet, once the online shopping takes place there is another concept also takes place which is e-procurement>

E-procurement involves moving the procurement process online to cut out steps and save money. For example, traditional procurement involves getting quotes and then approval, probably from finance, as well as a purchase order, which could take more than a week. With e-procurement, this process is simplified and speeded up considerably, thanks to real-time interaction with pre-approved suppliers and trading partners, who can be anywhere in the world. With online purchasing, the purchase can be approved online and the order completed within minutes; the required item often arrives within days.

In business, time is money, so the more a company can reduce staff time involved in purchasing, and the more quickly it issues a purchase order, the more it can reduce operational costs.

In which process the business converting into... revisit to traditional corporate procurement is required. Due to e-commerce there will be little change in bidding process but awarding the winner, received of goods and payment will remain same. Though the system is converting into online but physical visit means much more.

In B2B or e-commerce, the procurement process goes through electronic methods e-tender, e-bids, e-catalog, e-brochure, e-purchase order/ contract , e-invoice (s), e-payment (s), e-deliveries or physical deliveries, e-packing lists/ e-delivery notes, e-shortage claims, e-warranty, e-customer satisfaction survey

We have to be always innovative and ready to learn more. In the B2B environment we have to make adjustment in the SOPs as and where required. Supply chain is the integral part of any business therefore, we have to live with competition and new challenges.

Thanks for invitation

With the increased use of on-line B2B shopping, the concept of procurement process will remain same but there will be changes in the tendering process as follows known as e-tendering:

  • Bids will be advertised on line  and will be informed  to the registered  via email
  • Bid document will be placed in the corporate website and suppliers will download it.
  • Bid document will be received on line via corporate website. Even the bidders may be required pay earnest money/bid security on-line through banking channel and upload the payment receipt.

All other bidding process i.e. preparation of specification and bidding document, bid evaluation, contract award, receipt of goods, payment process will remain same.

Yes sure , because sometimes you will find it better to go to the traditional market because of old stock with low prices since the prices up in the online B2B
