ARCHITECTURE has walls/doors/roof/floor/window/sections/details/construction/schedules features plain AutoCAd does not, all geared towards those in the ARCH industry.

Plain AutoCAD is aimed at no one and has none of these abilities built in: it doesn't know a wall from a line for example, or a door from a widget.

AutoCAD Architecture is a vertical of AutoCAD, meaning it's based on AutoCAD but has lots of goodies designed to make architectural work go more smoothly

It is the same program, with the difference that the ribbon is layed out for Architecture .... I only been working with civil engineering ribbon which lets you work with mechanical and architectureal features as well....

Instructors/teachers recomand the civil engineering program over the others, since it gives more options..
