Do you think Siemens company makes advantages by making (plc)s programs like S7 300 or S7 400 little complicated and you have to follow more procedures ?

Siemens since the beginning has improved your systems and now a day the simatic S7 softwares are compliant, They begin with simatic S3, S5,  and now S7 with the SimaticS7 from S7-200, S7-300, S7-400 Through S7-1500  all of them with a new wincc flexible are compliant i mean the changes of them through the years are very simples,

Just you need to know the simatic S7 version from version 1 to version 11 because with the change of versions they change the Windows platform from Windows 95 in the beginning version 1 to Windows 7 version 11 but the procedures are more less the same in all the Simatic S7 we just need to practice and have some programation skills.

Then i recommend first of all to know what kind of Simatic S7 you will work and to be aware with the version.

All the softwares in all the PLC brands are compliant more even if they do not make changes like several brands, for instance Allen Bradley add at first  SLC- 500 with software RS logix 500 then PLC- 5 with the same procedure and now SLC- 5000 with the software RS logix 5000 if you see both you will see the same procedure they just change the harware presentation, in Panel wiew at first the software was RS View 32

now they use factory Talk software and are also more less the same you can use the same procedure.

Do not worry just learn a little bit more and be aware when you programing any PLC from all the brands.

the target for any company in the world is the money .and Siemens company success in PLC when they made simatic s7300 , 400 , finally the TIA Portal .

 now the best company in PLC is Siemens and the PLC is the heart for every industrial company .so they make advantages for both side ( Siemens company and the customers )

the advantages for siemens : they getting more money

i think so ,but troubleshooting is harder little bit but of lake of technology as i work with  allen bradely more relaible and easy for troubleshooting

Siemens programs beginning with Simatic manager used for S7-300/400 is a complete tool to program and simulate any designed program which make you test your design and you can also configure your network ,but this thing not easy , it depent on your project or application .

then siemens release later software TIA V11 V12 V13 which used to program S7-300/400/1200/1500 PLC ,Motor drives and integrated with WinCC to program your HMI or SCADA system .

finally , your system which decide that the programming will be easy or difficult
