The only reason why you would hire an older person or a younger person is prejudice.
In the UK, for example, it is illegal to ask a candidate's age.
Just because a certain characteristic is generally true about a certain group of people it does not mean that that characteristic applies to a particular member of that group. For example, women tend to be less tall than men, but that does not mean that the tallest candidate will not be a a woman. Similarly, the candidate with the most energy, enthusiasm and drive might be 60 years old.
Dear Omar,
I would consider age as discrimination factor and hence age or gender No Bar, BUT these factors depend on the nature of job or business, only upon considering the scope of work or job requirements one must conclude a wise decision
Regards
thank you for invitation
i don't care about age of the manger because i think the important thing is the ability and skills to manage or lead the company or team
Salam
I don't know if that applicable in ur country but consider age in hiring that mean discrimination and against labour law , all we know that some position need some maturity and seniority but we find people that are younger and much mature than older companies also want a lot of experience years that's not meant for me any weight in term of proficiency and expertise in their field ,so a lot of have y experience but they don't carry any expertise when you find people with3-5 y have strong proficiency and expertise
dear
The ability and skills to work and the right to lead the management team and sophistication comapny is the important thing in the work I do not care about the age
regards
Age makes no difference for a leader. It may make a difference for a manager, but even then, one has to balance energy (young) with experience (old).
Thank u for the invitation.
I believe it depends on the job required and the goals needed to take the company to a hire level, some jobs required old for experience some jobs require young with prospects ideas
Thank you for invitation & posting a good question. I agreed with honorable colleagues Mr.Duncan Robertson, Rajiv Kohli, Toufik Sahraoui, Ma`en AL-Rawabdeh.

I agreed with reply Mr.Duncan Robertson, Rajiv Kohli, Toufik Sahraoui, Ma`en AL-Rawabdeh.
A Leader is always a person with potential and a right mix of apt qualities which can never be judged based on the gender or age. According to me, for the right candidate, age does not matter at all.
Of course I would hire young leaders , As it always branching out iin lot of factors and you have to compare it :
Young:
Old :
To summaries it , It would be very hard to choose but i prefer the young people to lead because they want to prove them selves rather than someone who improved him/her self in a company he worked in a long time ago.
