If we compare the advertisements in the Arab to the advertisements in the Western world we can see a huge difference.
What would you do to change the perception of good advertising in the Arab world?
in my opinion , in the arab countries they think that the marketing it is the advertising, and it is wrong, we should explain the difference between MARKETING and ADVERTISING, the advertising it is apart of promotion mix
Marketing & Advertising in Arab world….
Let’s have some basics before discussing the actual answer.
# Marketing is an umbrella.
# Advertising comes under that umbrella. So it’s not exclusive.
Marketing (Including advertising) is basically based on below aspects
# Type of products and services,
# Cost of product and services.
# Type of market (Mass marketing or niche marketing)
# Potential customer profile.
# Culture, Traditions and customs of targeted customers.
# Budget for the marketing and advertising industry
# Means, Channel to be used for marketing and advertising...
And there can be further detailing of reasons, process, channels etc. before actual marketing and advertising comes into action.
Let’s comes to the actual question,
Arab world has below critical demographic and cultural impacts.
# Impact of Islamic values and traditions
# More ethical than anywhere else.
# Middle & lower middle class consist of 90% of population.
# Although women are traditional or forced to be traditional, But when comes to shopping or
buying decision, women decision plays bigger role almost in 90% cases.
# Arab world believes in inclusive society, Islamic traditions like oneness, commonness, faith & believe, truthiness and just etc.
Most of the marketing and advertising activities are impacted by above mentioned reasons. Except in those case where selected and customised, niche marketing activities for handful count of people for high end products and services.
Last part of question
Even I will have power to change something in Arab world marketing and advertising but I won’t change anything rather I will capitalise on above mentioned reasons.
To change the concept of marketing and advertising in the Arab world
We initially develop Arab Mojtmaatna
To accept new ideas in the field of marketing
Arabs are a loyal followers of celebrities who affects more than any other way to advertise a product for example ( mobiles was named according to the celebrity who advertise it ) . So celebrity endorsement is a good effective way to create an image in the Arabic world.
I would change the advertising perspective by enrolling real people in my advertisements with some real results
In arab countries they thing marketing is the name of selling something else,
marketing is not an advertising, these are two different things. marketing is relating to moblization and advertising is relating to just like a campaign.
Both are attractive in arab countries .
I would love to see how offline live campaigns would work in Arab countries, experiments that would promote the product by making a connection with the cutomers on a real time basis.
if you see online marketing of Arab countries, most of them are just following the same pattern to make sure that the "product looks good". They should connect with the customers.
I guess the usage of the sentence "MARKETING PERCEPTION' is a bit odd to me, in my opinion perception is more about the brand or customers, we measure brand perception or customer's,
while marketing is marketing in all over the world whether its traditional or digital or any kind of media to make the public aware of a brand or company and what it has to offer over the competition.
the question that rises here is the trend of marketing in Arab, American, European and Asian countries, yes in Arab countries we have a trend where traditional is winning over digital (due to many reasons), still the TV, radio, billboards, magazines, newspaper still have the better edge over social media and digital usage of marketing, what can we do to change? i guess this a government national plan and program to change many understandings.
thank you.
My Opinion clarifies:
If the Arab League were a single country, its 2011 GDP would have been more than $2.3 trillion, making it the world’s eighth-largest economy—bigger than India or Russia. Its per capita income would have been around $6,700—higher than that of China and India. More than half the population is under 25 years of age, making it one of the world’s most youthful markets.
The region’s draw is no longer solely the top of the economic pyramid. A growing middle class of more than 150 million people (the total population is over 350 million) is busy earning and spending. (See the exhibit “The Arab Middle Class.”) Household consumption accounted for as much as 44% of the region’s economy, higher than China’s 35% but less than India’s 56%. No wonder Middle East expert Vali Nasr wrote in his 2011 book, Forces of Fortune, “All across the region, a whole new economy is rising, mixing local values with surging consumption and building ever richer ties to the global economy, and this trend is not only every bit as powerful and important as the threat of fundamentalism, it is more so.”
yes i can change thewhole snario of company with my creative ideas and lot of team and individual work
