Firstly thank you for inviting me.
Word of Mouth (WOM) in the digital sphere has an infinite multi-fold reach compared to WOM in the physical 1-to-1 world.
whenever a person writes his/her review or rates a product or services in the internet, in most cases reaches to people far beyond the reviewers connections/links. Then the viewers of these reviews may try the product/ service and recommend it to others. Thereby it creates an uncontrollable fusion reaction.
A positive review can make a brand and a negative one can totally destroy a brand in a very short period.
Though the of speed of reach has changed over the period, What hasn't changed from stone-age to the digital-age is- bad news spreads at-least 10times faster than a good one.
Hence, individuals and corporates alike must always ensure their best services at all times other-wise the bad WOM will be uncontrollable. Damage control will be very expensive and with no guarantee of quarantining it.
WOM is effective in any business and it is a way of marketing but you cant control it because it by people but your services or products can make it better or worse and the key is how you make your clients happy or not and how you serve them
Word of mouth is one of the main aspects of marketing, no matter how advanced technology gets; It is the human ratings and words that people trust the most.
WOM, is very effective how? Note
Digital marketing is now effective tool for marketing, most of the people are some way concerned to digital social media, if they see any feedback about a service or product, they spread it to their friends, relatives, and shares that link so others could be benefited, every one will ask for the link, share it to me, tag me like these words.
Thank you for invocation.
I support all answers.
Word-of-Mouth Digital Marketing
4 short, actionable emails which will teach you the basics of word-of-mouth marketing
Over 6000 marketers from Ecommerce and other industries have benefitted from this course already
Here are three highly effective word-of-mouth strategies.
1. Have a good founding story. “When people recommend a company they like to explain the background, the reason the company was started, and so forth. You want to feel a personal connection, and if there’s a story you can relate to, you’re more likely to recommend them.” For more information on creating a compelling brand story, see our post on finding your brand’s content marketing narrative.
2. Treat your customers like gold. Although some businesses like to offer great deals for new customers or clients – offering better rates than they do for their regular, established clients, for example – Fay warns against the practice of sacrificing current customers to try to gain future ones. This can make it more difficult to get referrals from those who are satisfied with your business. Keep current customers extremely satisfied, and it will encourage them to spread the word.
3. Find ways to show that you care for your current customers or clients. Even small gestures can have a big effect. A recent example: I stayed at Magnolia Hotel in Denver, and was thrilled that they offered free milk and cookies before bedtime – to the point that I mentioned it on social media and even texted my husband to let him know my options: regular milk, chocolate milk or strawberry milk.
WOM is the first step to build a huge customer data base
ex: if the customer like your product and service he will bring other to you because your customer liked your sale process and product and its give him his satsification that he require so you have to improve your service and product quality
