body mass index is approximate measure of body weight over or under weight and can be calculated by dividing body weight on square hight hope answered the question

the harris benedict equation

males : 66 + ( 13.7 × weight ) +( 5 × height ) - ( 6.8 × age )

females : 655 + ( 9.6 × weight )  + ( 1.7 × height ) - ( 4.7 × age )

calculated the rate and type

of activity :

females/males/type of activity

1           /        1     /  sedentary

1.12     /       1.1  /   low active

1.27     /      1.25   /     active

1.48     /    1.45  /  very active

 Basic metabolic rate :

BMR = Activity rate × total calories

If Underweight, he calculates his ideal weight in a calorie equation, then × activity rate .

If overweight, subtract (-) his ideal weight of excess weight, then ÷ 2, then subtract the result (-) of excess weight, then  × activity rate .

 body mass Index :

BMI = weight ÷ height ^(2)

less than 20  /  Thinnest

 20 - 25     /    Ideal Weight

 25 - 30      /   increase weight

 30 - 35     / Obesity 1 degree

 35 - 40    /  Obesity 2 degree

more than 40 /  Excessive obesity

perfect weight for females

  = 23 × height ^(2)

perfect weight for males
