To answer this question, familiarize yourself with how your competitors are marketing their products. Tune your message (value proposition) to emphasize something that you do best and which is uniquely valuable to your customers.
Alternative...? I think the question is why is some one staying with you and your product.
Perhaps you are giving the better customer service or have the better product.... perhaps your client likes the way you deal with him/her....
Perhaps you have the original design ... or made an improvement to an existing patent ...
These are all reasons why a customer stays with you and not with the competetor

When you say we it is a little vague. But if you mean employees then it all depends on the skills and experience they bring to the business.
If the alternatives bring more skills and knowledge then they are more viable than us
